Carnival a Success!

The Halloween Carnival at Charley Taylor was a huge success and many gave high fives on this past Friday's event!  The carnival brought out approximately 350 people that evening from around the community and what a great time everybody seemed to have.  Between the hit of the bounce houses, basketball, ring toss, face painting, and many other games, everybody kept busy throughout the night.  Thanks again to all in the community for coming out to the carnival as this was one of our biggest crowds!  We hope you had a Happy Halloween and will be preparing for the holiday season.  View Carnival Album

BLAZE Sports - Boccia Saturday

This Saturday (10/10), join our BLAZE Sports program as we introduce the paraolympic sport of Boccia.

Boccia (pronounced /ˈbÉ’tʃə/, BOCH-É™) is a traditional recreational sport for athletes who require a wheelchair because of physical disability. Also known as bocce, it’s name is derived from the latin word for ball – bottia. It was originally designed to be played by people with cerebral palsy but now includes athletes with other severe disabilities affecting motor skills. In 1984 it became a Paralympic sport, and in 2008 was being practiced in over fifty countries worldwide. Boccia is governed by the Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association(CPISRA) and is one of three Paralympic sports that have no counterpart in the Olympic program.

We will be meeting in the Charley Taylor gymnasium from 12pm-2pm Saturday.  Hope you can join us!
